About the role
The Emergency Department at Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust sees approximately 140,000 patients per year with a mix of critical care, major trauma, minor injuries and primary care. The post is a full‑time, 1A banded Junior Clinical Fellow, expected to work a full rota with 24‑hour cover, including nights and weekends, on a new deal compliant pattern with 1:3 weekends.
Key responsibilities
- Manage patients in all areas of the Emergency Department, including the Urgent Treatment Centre, majors and resuscitation rooms, under the supervision of middle grades and consultants.
- Provide safe, high quality patient care, including acute assessment, resuscitation, and clinical decision making.
- Participate in teaching, supervision and professional development of junior staff, including new doctors and nurses.
- Contribute to clinical audit, research and quality improvement projects within the department.
- Support CT, X‑ray, ultrasound and MRI services and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records and effective communication with allied health professionals.
Person specification
Education and Qualifications
- MBChB (or equivalent).
- Full GMC registration.
- Provider status in at least one of ALS/ATLS/PALS.
Experience
- Previous NHS experience.
- Understanding of clinical audit.
- Peer‑reviewed medical publications.
