Clinical Psychologist or CBT Practitioner

The South Wales Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology is seeking to appoint a Clinical Psychologist or CBT Practitioner with BABCP accreditation to support the delivery of the Cardiff Psychological Therapies University Clinic. The successful candidate will join the team running the clinical psychology training programme on a one‑year fixed‑term basis, with possible contract extension depending on funding.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise trainee CBT therapists delivering cognitive behavioural therapy sessions to students.
• Provide clinical sessions as required.
• Mark academic assessments and contribute to training activities as needed.
• Participate in the planning and delivery of the clinical psychology training programme.

Qualifications & Experience

• BABCP accredited Clinical Psychologist or CBT Practitioner. Alternatively, HCPC‑registered practitioner psychologist with British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy accreditation.
• Interest in CBT training, supervision and student wellbeing.

Desirable Skills

• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to speak Welsh would be desirable.

Employment Details

The post is fixed‑term for 12 months (secondment). Extension is dependent on securing further funding. Applicants must obtain permission from their current line manager before applying.

Salary

£58,379 to £65,723 a year, pro rata.
