POSITION
Borders General Hospital – Community Specialist Dietitian (Band 6, 15 hours per week, permanent)
Salary: Band 6 – £41,608 – £50,702 pro rata.
JOB SUMMARY
An exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic specialist dietitian to support our Community Dietetic Team in the Scottish Borders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver face‑to‑face, telephone and virtual contact, including one‑to‑one and group interventions.
- Provide supervision to dietitians, students and dietetic support workers.
- Contribute to the training of other healthcare staff.
- Work collaboratively with a team of Community Dietitians across multiple settings.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Relevant clinical experience as a dietitian.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong teamworking, organisational and time‑management skills.
- Full driving licence, with flexibility to travel to meet service needs.
WORKING LOCATION & HOURS
Based in Peebles with flexibility to travel throughout the Scottish Borders. 15 hours per week on a permanent basis; part‑time hours are pro‑rata.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
As from 1 April 2026 the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours; part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. A corresponding increase in hourly rate ensures pay remains unchanged.
