Consultant in Restorative Dentistry
University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry to join its commissioned Head and Neck Specialist Service.
The role focuses on restorative dentistry as a core component of the service, embedded within the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Outpatient care is based at Poole Hospital, with inpatient and complex surgical activity at Royal Bournemouth Hospital. The Service will benefit from an on‑site Maxillofacial prosthetic laboratory, digital surgical planning and in‑house 3D printing.
There is genuine scope for the successful candidate to influence and help shape the future direction of the restorative service.

Main Duties
- Full‑time appointment of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), with a minimum commitment of 0.4 WTE (4 PAs per week).
- Part‑time appointments accepted; pro‑rata recruitment incentive up to £20,000 for full‑time.
- Availability on a Tuesday for the weekly MDT meeting.
- Job planning to balance service requirements and individual circumstances.
- Provide restorative dentistry service within the NHS setting; coordinate joint clinics and treatment planning with MDT colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience
- GDC Registration.
- Specialist Register for Restorative Dentistry.
- Significant experience in leading and managing restorative dentistry service within an NHS setting.

£109,725 to £145,478 a year or pro‑rata for less than full time.
