Python Senior Engineer | Energy, Sustainability & Renewables Trading | Up to £110k + Bonus + Benefits | London Hybrid 3x/week
Python Engineer is needed for an Energy & Renewables Trading client accelerating the low‑carbon mission through both financial and energy technology solutions. The role involves designing, building, and scaling the data infrastructure that powers trading products and decision‑making.
As a Python Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping how data flows across the organisation, from ingestion and processing to analytics and insights. The firm plans to build their own data lake internally, and seeks an engineer with strong understanding of data lake architecture, rapid development, and the ability to apply that knowledge to make differences across the business.
The position combines hands‑on Python engineering with architectural thinking, where you will contribute to design discussions, improve data pipelines, and help set the technical direction.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise in Python and object‑oriented programming
- Experience uploading data to databases using Python
- Strong knowledge of low‑level system design and data architecture
- Experience with containers and containerised environments
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, Azure or AWS, and containerisation
- Understanding of Medallion Architecture
Qualifications
- Strong Python exposure and data skills
- Experience working in a high‑impact role focused on data across the business
- Ownership of engineering projects and ability to drive change
