Mechanical Engineering Lecturer – Institute of Technology

Salary: 35,000- 42,000 (dependent on experience)

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging, industry-relevant teaching across Mechanical Engineering disciplines
  • Teach both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory
  • Support, mentor, and assess apprentices and vocational learners
  • Supervise engineering projects and contribute to programme delivery
  • Collaborate with employers to enhance real-world learning experiences
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, and excellence

Your Expertise Should Include:

  • Manual & CNC Turning and Milling
  • CNC Machine Operation and Programming
  • 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing
  • Engineering Drawing and CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
  • PLCs, Wiring, and Electrical Circuit Testing
  • Pneumatics and Fluid Power Systems

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Master's desirable)
  • Experience working within the engineering industry
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing future engineers
  • Experience delivering Level 2 and 3 EAL apprenticeships or vocational training (desirable)
  • Understanding of apprenticeship standards and work-based learning (desirable)
