About the Role
This permanent role is based at the company’s Glasgow office and is a key position bridging Sales, Engineering, and Operations. The Commercial Operations Manager will own the customer journey from order receipt to final commissioning and delivery, ensuring high efficiency and commercial success for a growing SME that develops cutting‑edge fibre optic sensing technology for power systems monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Own the customer journey and orchestrate all functions (Sales, Engineering, Ops) to ensure timely delivery, commissioning and acceptance of orders.
- Drive sales discipline by owning the CRM (Pipedrive) and pipeline reporting to provide a single source of truth for forecasting.
- Govern bid and proposal processes, managing the go/no‑go decision for tenders and ensuring proposals are commercially sound and technically accurate.
- Act as the first line of governance for pricing and margins, identifying and mitigating risks before they reach the customer.
- Directly manage two Sales Engineers and hold peers accountable to delivery standards, ensuring critical deadlines and customer commitments are met.
Qualifications
- Experience in Commercial or Sales Operations, including bid management, project coordination, or commercial operations within a technical B2B or manufacturing environment.
- Outcome‑focused with a proven ability to drive speed and efficiency across departments to maintain commercial momentum.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and data tools, with the capability to bring structure to a fast‑paced environment.
