We’re looking for a practical, hands‑on Multi‑skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a well‑established manufacturing business operating in a fast‑paced production environment. This is a permanent back shift role, offering a consistent routine without nights or weekends – ideal for someone who prefers later starts and a structured working pattern.

The role is mechanically biased, focusing on keeping production machinery running efficiently, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently
  • Support breakdown response to minimise downtime
  • Work on a variety of equipment including conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, and general plant machinery
  • Assist with basic electrical fault finding where required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical maintenance background within manufacturing or production
  • Multi‑skilled mindset with basic electrical fault‑finding ability
  • Confident using a multi‑meter and working safely around electrical systems
  • Able to identify key electrical components (contactors, relays, inverters, etc.)
  • A practical, common‑sense approach to maintenance
  • Someone reliable, steady, and happy working in a hands‑on role
  • Not required to be electrically qualified, but must be competent and safe when working with and around electrical systems

Compensation and Benefits

  • £46,000 salary
  • Monday to Friday permanent back shift (2pm – 10pm)
  • No weekends or night shifts
  • Stable and supportive working environment
