Role Overview
This is a strategic, customer-facing “hunter-farmer” position focused on driving growth across a well-established Northern UK territory. You’ll operate as a trusted technical advisor—partnering with engineers, procurement teams, and key stakeholders to support design-in activity, influence component selection, and secure long-term programme wins.
Working at the intersection of engineering and commercial strategy, you’ll leverage your expertise in board-level components to convert opportunities into sustainable revenue, while strengthening relationships across OEMs and high-reliability markets.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Ownership & Growth
- Manage and expand a portfolio of key accounts across North UK
- Identify and convert new business opportunities within target sectors
Technical Engagement & Design Support
- Provide application-level guidance across passive, interconnect, power, and semiconductor components
- Support NPI cycles, qualification processes, and design‑in activities
Customer Relationship Management
- Conduct regular site visits, technical reviews, and stakeholder meetings
- Build long‑term partnerships with engineering and procurement teams
Opportunity Development & Conversion
- Drive pipeline growth through proactive engagement and solution‑based selling
- Support pricing strategies, negotiations, and LTA discussions
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal sales, product management, and quality teams
- Coordinate supplier engagement, joint visits, and technical presentations
- Track pipeline, forecasts, and activity via CRM systems
- Provide insights on competitor activity, market trends, and customer demand
Requirements
Technical Expertise (Hard Commodities Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of board‑level components: passives, interconnect, power, semiconductors, electromechanical
Experience & Background
- Proven track record in Technical Sales, Field Applications Engineering, or similar
- Experience within franchised distribution, OEM, or high‑reliability environments
Commercial & Strategic Acumen
- Ability to influence both engineering and procurement stakeholders
- Strong understanding of pricing, negotiation, and opportunity lifecycle
Sector Experience
- Exposure to aerospace, defence, space, rail, or industrial markets highly desirable
- Familiarity with qualification standards and harsh‑environment applications
Mobility
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region
