We are seeking a self‑motivated individual, ideally with an engineering background, for this Trainee Field Engineer role, which involves installing and configuring data equipment on the wastewater network.
This is a full‑time permanent position with a comprehensive training program, company vehicle and equipment, and opportunities for advancement across several specialist areas.
Trainee Field Engineer – Benefits
- Starting salary of £27,000pa, increasing every six months during training to £31,000pa

Trainee Field Engineer (Water Industry) – Daily Activities
- Drive from site to site and work outside in all weather conditions
- Lifting, carrying and moving equipment and chamber covers
- Entry into and working within confined spaces
- Installing and maintaining a variety of mechanical instrumentation
Trainee Field Engineer (Water Industry) – Candidate Profile
- Full driving licence for manual gears is essential
- No prior experience is required as all training will be provided
- Previous electrical or mechanical experience (any nature) is an advantage
- Previous experience as a field engineer is useful
- Relevant academic qualifications (e.g., BTEC Engineering or BTEC Electrical) are an advantage
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn quickly during training
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as daily interaction with customers/clients is required
- Flexibility to accommodate business needs
