Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, flexible start/finish times)

Work Type: Fully onsite

Benefits: Annual bonus, pension, standard holiday allowance

Company

This is an opportunity to join a well‑established electronic systems manufacturer specialising in complex, high‑value technology used across demanding and performance‑critical environments. The business designs and supports advanced electronic products built around Intel‑based processing platforms, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and long‑term product support. They take pride in doing things properly investing time in fault‑finding, repairing to component level, and restoring equipment to the highest possible standard rather than replacing unnecessarily. Engineering rigour, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship are central to their culture.

Role

This position is heavily repair‑focused and would suit an engineer who genuinely enjoys diagnosing faults, getting to the root cause of failures, and bringing complex electronic systems back to life. You will take ownership of returned electronic assemblies and systems, diagnosing issues down to component level, carrying out hands‑on repairs, and validating that products are fully functional and meet specification before release. While testing is part of the role, it is primarily used to prove the repair, rather than being the core function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and fault‑find returned electronic systems at component level
  • Carry out hands‑on repair and restoration of electronic assemblies and systems
  • Perform detailed fault diagnosis on analogue and digital PCBs
  • Undertake PCB rework, including soldering, de‑soldering, and component replacement
  • Use electronic test and diagnostic equipment to support fault isolation and verification
  • Test repaired systems to confirm performance against specification
  • Maintain accurate documentation of faults, repairs completed, and test results
  • Ensure consistently high standards of workmanship, reliability, and quality

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in electronics repair and fault‑finding to component level
  • Strong practical skills in PCB rework (soldering and de‑soldering essential)
  • Experience using electronic test and diagnostic equipment
  • A methodical, detail‑oriented approach to troubleshooting and repair (this is critical)
  • Ability to restore faulty systems to a high standard rather than swapping parts
  • Experience validating repairs through functional and performance testing
  • Must‑have: Experience working with Intel‑based processor systems (CPUs) used in laptops, desktops, servers, or embedded computing platforms

Why Apply?

This role offers the chance to work in a genuinely engineering‑led environment where repair skills are valued and used properly. You’ll have autonomy, technical variety, and the ability to make a real impact by solving complex electronic problems with flexibility, stability, and a bonus culture that actually delivers.
