Location: Birmingham
Salary: £45,000 - Pro-rata to £27,000.
Employment Type: Permanent, Part Time – 3 days per week.

Overview
We are seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Officer to join our busy manufacturing facility. This role offers a superb work/life balance with a 3 day working week. You will develop and implement Health and Safety policies, ensuring full compliance with HSE legislation.
Commutable from: Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Aldridge, Birmingham, Brierly Hill, Brownhills, Willenhall, Wolverhampton, Lichfield, Great Wyrley, Cannock, Bloxwich and Codsall.
Duties
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and site permit requirements.
- Lead and improve H&S systems, procedures, audits, and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 standards.
- Own and develop risk assessments, SOPs, COPS and safety standards with site teams.
- Drive a strong safety culture through coaching, training, inductions and engagement.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions and follow‑up.
- Manage hazard reporting systems, KPIs, and site safety performance reporting.
- Support and lead SMAT walkabouts, 6S improvements, and compliance activities.
- Act as key contact for HSE, Environmental Agency, and Local Authority requirements.
- Oversee environmental compliance, waste streams, permits, and reporting obligations.
- Coordinate contractor safety compliance, RAMS, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH, DSEAR & REACH.
- Deliver inductions, training, PPE management and occupational health coordination.
Requirements
- Strong background in Health & Safety / Environmental compliance in an industrial setting.
- Experience with ISO standards, audits, and regulatory frameworks.
- Confident communicator who can influence at all levels.
- Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and safety culture.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and follow‑through.
