Curriculum Manager – Plumbing

Reporting to the Head of Department, the Curriculum Manager will provide operational leadership and management of a designated curriculum area within the Plumbing team, ensuring effective people management, successful achievement of qualifications, and the overall progression and experience of learners.

The role is full‑time and permanent, with a teaching commitment of 12 hours per week. Salary ranges from £54,669 to £56,214 per annum (inclusive of London weighting).

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development of a responsive and excellent curriculum offering through effective leadership and management of the curriculum team.
  • Coordinate designated curriculum areas and relevant projects, including T‑shaped initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of developments affecting the area of responsibility and work with the Head of Department to capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Develop, facilitate, and support curriculum changes to meet local, regional, national and global needs, fostering positive relationships across the Borough, within the immediate community and with stakeholders.
  • Manage staff time‑tabling and local budget for the designated curriculum teams, overseeing allocation of physical and human resources.

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Cert Ed/PGCE or a relevant teaching/training qualification.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Appropriate Level 3 subject specialism.
  • B1 or TAQA verifier award.
  • Successful teaching experience in Further Education.
  • Experience liaising with awarding bodies.
  • Experience working to the Common Inspection Framework.
  • Development and delivery of successful teaching and learning strategies that promote inclusive learning and engage learners.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and developing provision in accordance with quality assurance frameworks.
  • Experience in self‑assessment processes, course reviews and writing development plans.
