Overview

The Planning and Performance Development Manager sits within the Adults, Health and Commissioning Directorate and plays a central role in supporting effective planning, performance management and service improvement. Working across operational, commissioning and corporate teams, you\'ll provide insight, assurance and coordination that enables senior leaders to make informed decisions and deliver better outcomes for adults, carers and communities.

We are seeking a proactive and influential Planning and Performance Development Manager to work at the heart of the directorate. You\'ll be coordinating business planning, overseeing the delivery of a complex change portfolio, and managing performance and statutory reporting arrangements. Through robust data, insight and collaboration, you will support senior leaders to understand performance, manage risk and drive continuous improvement across adult social care, health and commissioning services.

What will you be doing?

You will lead the coordination of planning, performance and change activity across Adults, Health and Commissioning, ensuring robust reporting, oversight and continuous improvement. The role involves working across teams and systems to translate complex data into actionable insight, supporting informed decision making and service improvement, with responsibility for coordinating inputs rather than direct line management.

This role does not have line management responsibility.

About you

This is an excellent opportunity to influence strategic decision making and improve outcomes for adults and communities.

You will be skilled at turning complex data into a clear and compelling narrative, supporting the development of well evidenced, practical improvement plans that drive better outcomes.

You will bring strong experience or transferable skills in business planning, performance management, data analysis and service improvement within adult social care, health, local government or a similarly complex organisation.

You will be confident working across teams and with partners, able to turn data into clear insight and improvement plans and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.

We welcome applications from candidates without direct local authority experience where they can demonstrate relevant skills, analytical capability and a commitment to public service outcomes.

You will be committed to equality, safeguarding and the Council\'s Net Zero ambition.
