Opportunity

EY’s market‑leading Strategy and Execution (S&E) team provides IT & Operations advice to corporate and private equity firms intending to acquire, divest or restructure businesses. The team comprises advisors with specialist commercial, operations, IT and transaction experience from industry, advisory and audit backgrounds.

As a Senior Executive (Manager) in our team, you’ll advise corporate and private equity clients in the TMT sector, supporting key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for transactions. You will apply your technical skills across the M&A transaction lifecycle, including pre‑deal diligence, portfolio review, and corporate carve‑outs and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or contribute to pre‑deal, post‑deal, separation and integration engagements with clients across all sectors, including Telecoms and Private Equity in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
  • Manage blended project teams comprising colleagues from our transactions and advisory practices.
  • Assist in business origination aspects, including pitches and presentations, and work alongside colleagues from EY Parthenon, such as Operational and Financial Due Diligence, Corporate Strategy and Software Strategy Group.
  • Work on client engagement teams that advise and support key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for transactions.
  • Learn and develop technical and personal skills to support career goals, through a blend of structured learning, coaching and experiences.
  • Contribute to people initiatives, recruiting, retaining and training current and future staff.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in TMT‑focused roles, especially in digital infrastructure.
  • A degree in engineering, computer science, information technology or related subjects.
  • Experience or awareness of transactions, ideally IT due diligence and/or IT post‑merger integration, separation/carve‑out assignments.
  • Broad knowledge and deep understanding of enterprise architecture, IT operating model, IT strategy and governance, systems integration and application development, IT service delivery, IT infrastructure, IT financials and data.
  • Knowledge of latest industry trends such as fibre network architecture, data centre design, OSS/BSS transformations, agentic AI, GPUaaS.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as OpenAPIs, connectivity protocols, wholesale pricing, competition dynamics, spectrum allocations, infrastructure build requirements.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience delivering high‑quality reports and presentations.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to provide insights on IT aspects of transactions that are relevant and valued by clients.
  • Strong team leadership skills, capable of managing and developing juniors.
  • Adept at building strong working relationships with senior clients, including influence, advice and support to key decision makers.
  • Flexible with working locations, quick to learn and leverage skills in new situations.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of or certification in structured methodologies and familiarity with industry standards such as ITIL for infrastructure, Systems Development Life Cycle methods and COBIT for IT governance.
