We are recruiting for an established training provider who deliver construction training programmes for young people, apprentices, and adult learners. Due to continued growth they are looking for an Estates, Facilities, & Health & safety Manager to oversee the management, maintenance and safety of their training centres.
We are looking for someone with a practical background in construction, site supervision or facilities management, with a strong knowledge of health and safety requirements within working environments.
You will be organised, proactive and comfortable managing a wide range of facilities and compliance responsibilities.
The Role
- This is a hands-on-role responsible for ensuring their facilities, workshops and training environments remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
- You will oversee the day-to-day management of their centres, ensuring buildings, equipment and learning environments meet health and safety standards and provide a safe and professional environment for learners and staff.
- The role will involve working within an environment with young people and vulnerable learners, therefore you must know the importance of maintaining safe, secure, and supportive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management and maintenance of all SCC facilities
- Ensure buildings, workshops and training environments are safe, compliant and well maintained
- Carry out and maintain site risk assessments and safety inspections
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
- Maintain records for compliance checks, inspections and maintenance schedules
- Coordinate external contractors for servicing, repairs and inspections
- Ensure workshop tools and equipment are maintained and safe for use
- Support tutors in maintaining safe working environments for learners
- Oversee site improvement and maintenance projects carried out by apprentices
- Monitor fire safety systems, emergency lighting, PAT testing and general safety compliance
- Investigate and respond to health and safety incidents where required
- Support the leadership team in maintaining safe and effective learning environments
- Experience managing facilities, estates or building maintenance
- Experience carrying out risk assessments and health & safety inspections
- Experience overseeing building repairs, maintenance or improvement works
- Experience coordinating contractors and service providers
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Ability to manage compliance records and inspection schedules
- Full UK driving license
