To manage the definition of policies and the implementation of technological solutions to ensure a coordinated production, use and handover of digital information, in accordance with the project.
To produce and maintain the BIM Execution Plan and the set of documents that provide the framework to produce structured information in both Design and Construction phases. To implement and maintain the required technological tools to facilitate information collection, exchange and use. To collaborate and agree with Department Leads best information workflows and tolls. To establish process to identify need and provide training to Contractor and Supply Chain, in the use of information systems.
The Information Manager provides focal point in project information management issues in the contract and leads the Information Management Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver information management (IM) strategies, standards, and processes for client‑facing projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and industry best practices.
- Establish and manage the IM function for projects and programmes, implementing the agreed strategies, standards, and processes, and ensuring effective governance and compliance.
- Train, coach, and mentor project and programme colleagues in IM practices and processes, driving awareness, capability building, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead and manage a team of direct and indirect reports, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, structures, and tools are in place to deliver area plans and achieve excellence in IM delivery.
- Collaborate across teams to support the net zero carbon transition, proactively identifying and managing carbon emissions and reductions associated with information management activities.
- Oversee assurance and quality control of all documents and artefacts submitted and stored, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
- Ensure supply chain assurance processes are monitored and adhered to for all suppliers, maintaining high standards of data integrity and compliance.
- Lead and participate in audits (internal, external, and supplier’s) as defined by the audit schedule, ensuring findings are addressed and continuous improvement is achieved.
Technical Skills And Competencies
- Proven knowledge of IM principles.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR).
- Proficiency in IT (Information Technology).
- Expertise in data privacy and protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, DPA, CCPA) and their application in business processes.
- Familiarity with BI tools, data visualisation, and supporting advanced analytics initiatives.
- Understanding of current and emerging information management technologies (e.g., cloud data platforms, AI/ML in data management).
Qualifications, Certifications And Experience
- Professional certification in information management, such as Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), or equivalent (e.g., CDMP, DCAM).
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Library Science, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience establishing and monitoring data quality standards, metrics, and remediation processes.
- Experience leading data‑related change initiatives, including stakeholder engagement and communication.
