This role is an exciting opportunity for a UK-based music producer to collaborate on a left-field electronica project. The project is led by a songwriter experimenting with a unique blend of organic and electronic sounds, drawing inspiration from artists such as Bonobo, Massive Attack, Yello, Radiohead, and Björk. The aim is to create a modern, raw, and atmospheric sound that fuses live strings with innovative electronic production, steering clear of polished EDM. The initial focus will be on producing one song, with the potential for further collaboration if the partnership proves successful. While most of the work will be remote, there is the possibility of recording live strings at a dedicated venue should the project progress.

- Collaborate closely with the songwriter to develop and refine demo tracks into fully realized productions
- Integrate live string elements with electronic beats and textures to achieve a distinctive UK/London sound
- Provide creative input on arrangement, sound design, and overall sonic direction
- Manage the production process from initial concept through to final mix, ensuring high-quality output
- Coordinate with vocalists, including working with AI-generated temp tracks and assisting in the selection of a suitable female vocalist
- Prepare project files and stems for potential live recording sessions
Skills and Requirements
- Proven experience in music production, with a strong portfolio demonstrating work in electronica, trip-hop, or experimental genres
- Proficiency in Logic Pro and/or Ableton Live
- Deep understanding of blending organic instrumentation with electronic elements
- Creative approach to sound design and arrangement
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work remotely and, if required, attend in-person sessions in the UK
- Familiarity with the UK/London music scene and relevant influences
- Ability to work flexibly on a personal project with evolving requirements
- Experience working with vocalists and integrating vocal tracks into electronic productions is highly desirable
