Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (Primary)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sheffield. This role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum, develop independence, and thrive in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO
- Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEND in a primary setting (preferred)
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
