Assistant Head Teacher

A high achieving, independent specialist provision are looking for an experienced Assistant Headteacher join their team, leading Quality of Education. Located just north of Birmingham, their purpose-built, modern site offers a range of advanced facilities to promote creativity.

Job description:

• Joining the Senior Leadership team in leading whole-school Teaching & Learning, as well as Quality Assurance
• Lead whole-school training of 50 staff
• Promote progression through the development plan, as well as pupil confidence and attainment
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
• Additional teaching responsibilities according to a set timetable (5-6 classes)
• Salary: £55,745 - £58,569 (DOE)
• Full-time, permanent
• Starting ideally asap, but negotiable depending on notice period

Person specification:

• Previous senior or middle leadership experience including curriculum development
• Background in working with SEN pupils
• Strong communication, staff management and interpersonal skills
• A clear dedication and passion for working with SEND students
• Confident, outgoing and calm persona
• QTS or QTLS
• Additional SEN or leadership qualifications are desirable

The role would suit an individual with experience in middle or senior leadership within education, with emphasis on working with SEND pupils. Additional responsibilities lie alongside, including teaching and acting as DDSL. To provide tailored, personalised learning, high staff to pupil ratios are important, with no more than 6 pupils in each class.
