Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Our specialist SEN school in Liverpool is seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with pupils aged 2–19 with a range of needs including autism, PMLD, SEMH, and complex medical conditions. This is a hands-on role supporting learning, communication, personal care, and emotional regulation—always with patience, empathy, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support across a sensory and activity-based curriculum
  • Assist with personal care, manual handling, and mobility needs
  • Use visual aids, picture exchange systems, and tailored strategies to support communication
  • Promote independence through life skills, social interaction, and routine-based learning
  • Support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs using positive behaviour approaches

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience in SEND settings or care environments (school, residential, medical, or community)
  • Confidence supporting children with physical disabilities, non-verbal communication, and emotional challenges
  • A calm, resilient, and proactive approach to behaviour and care
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
