About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a £30 million cut-and-carve redevelopment scheme in Oxford. This is a high-profile project involving a retained façade and significant heritage works, requiring a strong understanding of complex structural interventions, conservation principles, and stakeholder management.
You will take ownership of the project from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while respecting the historic fabric of the building.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle of a £30m cut-and-carve scheme
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, structural engineers, heritage consultants, and contractors
- Oversee façade retention strategy and temporary works design/implementation
- Ensure all works comply with heritage and conservation requirements, including liaison with local authorities and conservation officers
- Manage programme, cost control, and risk mitigation strategies
- Chair project meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders
- Monitor health & safety compliance and ensure best practices are upheld on site
- Drive quality assurance across all phases of the build
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering complex refurbishment, cut-and-carve, or heritage-led developments
- Strong knowledge of façade retention techniques and structural sequencing
- Experience working on listed buildings or within conservation areas
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and experience managing large project budgets (£20m+)
- Relevant construction qualification (e.g., degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar)
- Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CIOB, APM) desirable
