Package Manager / Site Agent – Highways

We are working with a leading contractor on a major highways scheme and are looking to bring in a Package Manager / Site Agent to support a long-term programme of early and enabling works.

This role will focus on managing subcontractor packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard. It’s a strong opportunity to get involved in a large-scale project at an early stage, with works already underway and running through to March 2028.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate subcontractor packages across early and enabling works

• Ensure all works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality expectations

• Oversee site operations, maintaining high standards of health & safety compliance

• Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and key stakeholders

• Monitor progress and address any delivery risks or issues

• Ensure accurate reporting and documentation throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements:

• Experience working with a Tier 1 contractor

• Strong track record in managing subcontractor packages

• Highways experience is essential

• Good understanding of early and enabling works (site clearance, utilities diversion, archaeology, ecology)

• SMSTS and CSCS required

Role Details:

• 42.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

• Based in Essex

• Flexibility to work from home 1–2 days per week depending on site activity

• Long-term role with an immediate start available
