About the Role

MAC Groundwork Contractors Ltd are looking for an experienced Tarmac Ganger to lead surfacing teams across projects throughout the UK.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality finishes, can lead from the front, and understands the pace and standards required on busy construction sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a tarmac gang on-site across multiple projects

• Carry out and oversee all stages of surfacing works (prep, laying, finishing)

• Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification

• Coordinate daily site activity with Contracts Managers and site teams

• Maintain strong quality control standards across all works

• Complete daily paperwork (shift reports, QA records, handovers)

• Promote and enforce health & safety best practice at all times

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Tarmac Ganger or senior operative

• Strong working knowledge of surfacing and finishing standards

• Ability to manage and motivate a team on active sites

• Good communication skills and a proactive approach

• CSCS card (essential)

• SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred)

• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
