Senior Project Co-ordinator (Freight Forwarding)
Purpose of the Position
The Senior Project Co-ordinator is responsible for maximising profitability across job files while maintaining a high standard of customer service across import and export operations. The role ensures operational excellence, productivity, and customer satisfaction, while supporting overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires ownership of day-to-day operational activities, commercial performance, and customer service across project and general forwarding shipments. Responsibilities include coordinating complex multimodal movements, managing suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring shipments are completed efficiently and profitably.
Key duties include:
- Lead RFQs, RFIs, and tender submissions from clients and network partners.
- Maximise profitability through supplier negotiation and cost control.
- Manage multimodal transport operations including road, sea, air, warehousing, imports, exports, and out-of-gauge cargo.
- Oversee shipments from order acceptance through file opening, booking, pick-up, transit, and final delivery.
- Provide operational planning, scheduling, and service solutions.
- Prepare ad hoc quotations and respond to customer enquiries.
- Monitor urgent deliveries, customs clearance, and on-time cargo delivery.
- Handle operational exceptions, irregularities, and corrective actions.
- Complete operational job costing and maintain accurate system records.
- Issue arrival notifications and provide track & trace updates.
- Coordinate transit shipments and execute customer shipping instructions.
- Manage customs subcontractors and evaluate supplier capability and performance.
- Control temporary import/export files and supporting documentation.
- Maintain standard operating procedures and full use of operational systems.
- Support customer retention through consistent service excellence.
- Provide forwarding and logistics support to the sales team.
Requirements & Skills
The successful candidate will have strong freight forwarding knowledge and a practical understanding of project cargo operations. Experience handling complex shipments across multiple transport modes is essential, with sector exposure in Oil & Gas, Mining, or Energy considered advantageous.

Education & Experience

- International working experience preferred.
