Non-Contentious Construction Partner | Lead Role in a Growing Boutique

The Firm
This is a specialist construction boutique based in the City, built around a deliberately different model. The structure is flat, with no traditional partnership tier. That means fewer internal barriers, more direct access to decision-making, and a much closer link between your contribution and your progression. You are not operating within a large team structure, so your input is visible and carries weight.
The firm operates a lean delivery model, working with experienced lawyers supported by paralegals and technology rather than large associate teams. For you, that translates into more direct involvement in matters, closer client relationships, and greater control over how work is delivered. The client base centres on mid-sized developers and contractors, but the work itself is high-value, City-quality construction work. You will be advising on significant projects and dealing directly with decision-makers, without sitting behind layers of stakeholders.
Culturally, it is collaborative, modern, and low on bureaucracy. The expectation is high performance, but without unnecessary process, internal politics, or presenteeism.
The Role
You will take ownership of the firm’s non-contentious construction offering, leading on a broad range of matters with a focus on JCT and NEC contracts. From day one, you will work directly with clients, advising on projects, managing relationships, and positioning yourself as a key point of contact.
Alongside fee-earning, you will play a visible role in developing the practice. That includes contributing to business development, strengthening existing relationships, and helping to shape how the offering evolves as the firm grows. You will work closely with the Head of Construction within a smaller, highly engaged team where communication is direct and responsibility sits with you.
