Administration Manager | Lead and Modernise a Core Business Function
If you’re currently managing an admin team but feel your role is limited to oversight rather than having a real say in how things are run, this offers the opportunity to step into a position where you can shape how a firm operates day to day. This is a role with real ownership, where you will lead a function, improve processes, and directly impact how efficiently the wider business runs.
The Firm
This is a full-service London law firm with a broad client base spanning individuals, businesses, and international clients. The firm has built its reputation on offering a partner-led, commercially focused service across a range of practice areas, combining high-quality legal work with a more agile and accessible approach than larger firms. Clients are often long-standing, with relationships built on responsiveness and consistency.
Internally, there is a strong emphasis on collaboration between teams and departments. Business support functions are seen as integral to the firm’s success, not separate from it, which means your role sits close to both fee earners and senior leadership.
The culture is professional but modern, with an openness to improving systems, processes, and ways of working. There is a clear recognition that operational efficiency and client experience go hand in hand.
The Role
You will take ownership of the administration function across the firm, overseeing day-to-day operations while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency. Your focus will be on both people and process. You will manage a small team of administration and compliance specialists, setting clear expectations, supporting development, and creating a high-performing, accountable culture.
Alongside team leadership, you will review and streamline administrative workflows across areas such as file management, document handling, and client communication. You will ensure processes are not only effective but aligned with regulatory requirements, including Lexcel standards and client onboarding compliance.
A key part of your role will be using data to drive decisions. You will produce and analyse management information, track performance across the team and wider business, and use this insight to improve how the function operates. You will also act as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring the admin team supports fee earners effectively while maintaining high standards of client service.
