The Role
As the Senior Garment Technologist, you will oversee the fit, quality, and technical development of childrenswear garments across boys and girls categories. Working collaboratively with buyers, designers, factories, and a small technical team, you’ll ensure all products meet brand standards, compliance requirements, and delivery timelines.
You will lead fittings, manage graded size charts and blocks, provide clear technical direction to suppliers, and ensure all garments pass required testing and sealing stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead weekly fit sessions, providing accurate and actionable fit comments to suppliers.
- Attend development meetings to ensure consistency in fit, construction, and quality throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain graded size charts and basic blocks for childrenswear across both boyswear and girlswear.
- Oversee wash care instructions, labelling requirements, and ensure all garments meet testing standards.
- Review and manage test reports, ensuring full compliance with safety and quality regulations.
- Collaborate closely with external suppliers, factories, internal buyers, designers, and merchandisers.
- Attend critical path meetings to ensure all samples are sealed on schedule.
- Provide guidance and support to the technical team, helping drive consistency and professional development.
- Maintain high-quality documentation and technical packs throughout the process.
About You (MUST HAVES)
- Recent experience as a Senior Garment Technologist, within childrenswear be it from a retailer , brand or supplier .
- Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, testing and compliance (childrenswear ).
- Confident and well versed in leading fit sessions and communicating technical requirements clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Well‑organised, self‑motivated, and able to manage workload across multiple product areas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with Adobe software packages.
- Enjoys working in a business that is growing, changing, and evolving.
- London based and eligible to work in the UK
