We are partnering with a leading energy producer with a significant operational footprint and a corporate heart in London. As their business evolves and transitions from traditional HR support to a value-driven human capital approach, they need a pragmatic leader to achieve this.

The Mission: This isn’t about replacing a team; it’s about elevating one. You will take ownership of UK HR operations, supporting a diverse workforce that includes London-based talent and international assignees. This role is base on-site in central London 4 days per week.

The Role: What You’ll Do

  • End-to-End Ownership: Lead the full employee lifecycle for UK-contracted staff and international assignees, ensuring seamless day-to-day HR operations.
  • Operational Excellence: Strengthen core processes including onboarding, policy management, and HR data systems to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • Strategic Transition: Support the shift from traditional HR support to a value-driven “human capital” model focused on long-term business impact.
  • Team Development: Partner with the existing HR team to build internal capability, mentor junior colleagues, and foster a “one team” global mindset.
  • Trusted Advisory: Act as a pragmatic, credible partner to managers, providing sound judgment on complex employee relations and performance matters.

The Candidate: What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Generalist Expertise: Significant experience in operational HR delivery with a deep understanding of UK employment law and best practices.
  • International Perspective: Experience navigating multicultural environments; exposure to the energy or extractive sectors is highly advantageous.
  • Disciplined Execution: A structured, “hands-on” professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for making systems and processes work better.
  • Relationship Driven: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and coach managers across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Solutions Focused: A mature and grounded approach to problem-solving, with the credibility to influence and lead through change.
  • Bilingual Advantage: While not mandatory, fluency in French is a major plus for collaborating with our international partners.
