Arthur are working exclusively with a client to hire a Company Secretary to join their Legal & Compliance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced governance professional with a background in insurance or financial services who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead company secretarial activities including drafting agendas, board and committee minutes, written resolutions, and corporate materials
- Coordinate board and committee meetings, including preparation and stakeholder management
- Support the delivery of robust corporate governance frameworks
- Maintain statutory registers and manage regulatory filings and applications
- Ensure legal, regulatory, and compliance records are accurate and up to date
- Assist with annual and periodic filings and reporting obligations
- Prepare legal documentation and support transactional and administrative projects
- Provide administrative support to the Legal & Compliance function
- Support disaster recovery planning and processes
- Assist with due diligence, KYC requests, and auditor engagement
- Monitor and report on legal and regulatory developments
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 6–10 years’ company secretarial experience within a law firm, corporate legal department, or professional services environment
- Proven expertise in meeting preparation and high-quality minute taking
- Experience within insurance or financial services
- Degree qualified with a CILEx qualification or equivalent paralegal training
- Familiarity with regulatory bodies and filings (e.g. Companies House, PRA, FCA, Lloyd’s and/or CBI)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proactive, professional, and approachable with a “can-do” mindset
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Board Vantage
