Role: Site General Manager - Retail Operations

Package: £80,000 - £85,000 + Car Allowance & Bonus
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Site General Manager to lead a high-performing retail operation in North Yorkshire. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, customer experience, and financial performance across a large, fast-paced site.
The Role
As Site General Manager, you will take full accountability for the site's performance, leading teams across retail operations, customer service, logistics, and support functions. You will be expected to create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strong customer focus while delivering against ambitious commercial targets.
You will act as the senior leader on site, ensuring operational efficiency, stock integrity, compliance, and an exceptional customer experience at all times. A key part of your role will also involve developing and motivating your leadership team to deliver consistent results and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Full P&L responsibility for the site
- Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-functional management team
- Drive sales growth and operational efficiency
- Ensure outstanding customer experience standards are consistently met
- Oversee stock control, logistics, and supply chain coordination
- Implement process improvements and cost-control initiatives
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Deliver strategic site development plans aligned with business objectives
About You
- Proven experience in a senior operational or general management role within a logistics distribution and supply chain environment
- Strong commercial acumen with full P&L responsibility
- Demonstrable leadership experience managing large, diverse teams
- Track record of driving performance improvement and operational change
- Highly organised, resilient, and solutions-focused
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working in a hands‑on, customer‑centric environment
