CMA/LPN - Family Medicine - Plymouth, WI

This position will work 38 hours per week.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions and carries out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. This position is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit.

What you will do

• Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
• Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders and prepare patient charts.
• Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
• Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications/immunizations.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment to meet infection control standards and ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.

Education Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or Practical Nursing program.

Experience Qualifications

• Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a MA/LPN obtained through professional MA/LPN work experience or completion of student clinical rotations.
• Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (Preferred).
• Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (Preferred).

Licenses and Certifications

• Certifications that supersede CMA/RMA license may practice to the highest level of licensure with the approval of Quality Resources in writing; approval kept on file with the department supervisor.
• Must be certified as a Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant in Wisconsin through an approved accreditor upon hire.
• Valid Practical Nursing license in Wisconsin through an approved accreditor upon hire.
• CPS/BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) from an approved program or a Prevea-sponsored program upon hire.
