We are looking for a Data Architect to help design and evolve the data architecture that powers Elsevier’s next-generation publishing and peer-review platforms.
You will play a key role in transforming our submissions ecosystem into a modern, data-centric platform that supports new submission experiences, AI-enabled workflows, and enterprise-wide data reuse.
Working closely with engineering teams, product leaders, and platform architects, you will define the core data architecture for the submissions domain, including the manuscript-centric data model, domain boundaries, APIs, and event-driven data flows.
This is an opportunity to shape the data foundations of one of the world’s largest scholarly publishing platforms.
The Submissions Technology group develops and operates systems that manage the complete lifecycle of scholarly manuscripts—from submission and peer review to editorial decision-making and integration with downstream publishing and production systems.
Our platforms support thousands of journals and enable collaboration between authors, reviewers, and editors across the global research community.
We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation. With an average length of service of 9 years, we are confident that we offer an appealing working prospect for our people. With numerous wellbeing initiatives, shared parental leave, study assistance and sabbaticals, we will help you meet your immediate responsibilities and long‑term goals.
We are an equal opportunity employer with a commitment to help you succeed. Here, you will find an inclusive, agile, collaborative, innovative and fun environment, where everyone has a part to play. Regardless of the team you join, we promote a diverse environment with co‑workers who are passionate about what they do, and how they do it.
