Head of Health & Social Care and Science (on-site)

Recruiter: Suffolk New College. Location: Ipswich, Suffolk. Salary: £45,003 – £51,846 per year. Hours: 35 per week (including teaching). Contract: Permanent, full-time.

This role will lead on the operational and strategic aspects of the Health & Social Care & Science curriculum area, working closely with the Director to support, lead and develop staff in delivering an exceptional student experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational and strategic aspects of the Health & Social Care & Science curriculum area.
• Proactively support, lead and develop staff, ensuring a high student experience.
• Build and develop sustainable relationships with employers and external agencies.
• Apply creative and innovative approaches to enhance student experience and outcomes.
• Deliver teaching hours as required, providing proven teaching expertise in the related subject area.

Qualifications

• Excellent people‑management and development skills.
• Expertise in the curriculum areas and experience working with young people aged 16+.
• Proven teaching expertise with a profile of grade 1 or 2 lesson observations.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification; maths and English at level 2 or equivalent.
• Teaching qualification at level 5.
• Willingness to work across multiple campuses within the college.

Based at Suffolk New College, Ipswich Campus, the post may require travel between campuses.
