We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner (GP) to join our forward-thinking and dynamic team within Central Brighton and Hove.

The role

As a GP, you will be part of a large and multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals, and your work will be firmly grounded in direct, compassionate care or clinical work with patients, families, and disadvantaged communities.

In return, you will receive a robust support system from our dedicated team, with strong support for CPD.

Main duties of the job

As a GP, your clinical responsibilities include conducting surgery and telephone consultations, managing queries, home visits, repeat prescriptions, and timely correspondence. You will make autonomous decisions for self-referred and referred patients, assess undiagnosed health concerns, screen for disease risks, provide counselling, and deliver health education. You will admit or discharge patients, refer to other care providers, and ensure consultation notes and data meet agreed standards. Responsibilities include issuing computer-generated prescriptions, adhering to the Practice prescribing formulary, and fulfilling duties expected of a GP in primary care.

Organisational responsibilities involve participating in developing and delivering new services and care models, adhering to Practice policies (e.g., prescribing, confidentiality, data protection), and committing to ongoing learning and evidence-based best practices. You will contribute to Enhanced Services, QOF/IIF initiatives, audits, and clinical standard setting. Additional duties include maintaining and developing patient records, summarising and Read-Coding data, and attending relevant training and events.

This role requires a commitment to quality care, continuous improvement, and teamwork in a dynamic and supportive environment.
