Overview

The Role:

We are now seeking an Associate Director of Stakeholder Engagement to provide strategic leadership across stakeholder engagement, marketing, communications, events and operations.

The successful candidate will bring a clear passion for the BE‑ST mission and values, acting as an ambassador for the organisation and inspiring others through their commitment to innovation, collaboration and positive change within the built environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to shape how BE-ST engages with its stakeholders, tells its story, and delivers high‑impact programmes that support Scotland’s economic and innovation ambitions.

As part of the leadership team, you'll play an integral role in influencing BE-ST's strategic development and management decisions, setting the tone for performance, change, and improvement. In addition to steering your team of talented professionals, you'll be instrumental in developing their skills, advocating for our organizational values, and fostering a vibrant, collaborative team culture.

What we will need from you

You will be an experienced and confident leader with a strong background in stakeholder engagement, marketing and communications, and a proven ability to operate in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments. You will be motivated by purpose‑led work and able to energise and inspire teams around a clear organisational mission.

You’ll bring:

Experience of working in higher education, innovation, or similarly complex environments, and knowledge of Scotland’s construction or innovation landscape would be an advantage.
