- Interpret political developments at pace, offering proactive advice and anticipating risks and opportunities.
- Oversee multiple accounts simultaneously, ensuring excellence in delivery, quality of work and client service.
- Mentor and develop colleagues, setting high standards and supporting their growth.
- Drive new business by identifying opportunities, contributing to pitches and representing Charlesbye externally.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to shape the firm’s offering as we scale.
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will bring:
- Associate Director: At least eight years experience working in a public affairs and / or communications consultancy.

- Sharp political judgement and genuine fluency across parliament, Whitehall and the media.
- A political and media network you actively maintain and deploy for clients.
- A track record of leading complex, high stakes mandates – legislative, regulatory or reputational.
- The confidence to advise at board and C‑suite level and the credibility to back it up.
- Strong written communication skills and a high bar for the quality of everything that goes out under your name.
- Ambition, drive and an entrepreneurial spirit – this is a firm that’s building and we want people who want to help build it.
- Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities under pressure.
- A collaborative, thoughtful leadership style and genuine investment in the people around you.
