We are looking for an experienced Engineer to work as a member of the Mitie Fire & Security Systems Operations Field Service team. You will ensure effective delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive calls, and additional small works, while ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. The role involves routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs, and installation of fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm equipment, along with appropriate documentation and record‑keeping in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM, reactive calls, and small works for fire and security systems.
- Service, test, inspect, repair, and install fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records to meet legislative and qualitative standards.
- Apply health and safety requirements and conduct fault‑finding techniques.
- Attend company‑initiated training to keep up to date with technical aspects of the role.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within the fire and security systems industry.
- Proven ability to carry out PPM, reactive calls, and small works.
- Knowledge of relevant standards/codes and health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication skills and basic Microsoft Word and Excel literacy.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with PPM, accident reporting, or RAMS is desirable.
