Job Overview

A Senior Consultant in our UK Banking Advisory practice, responsible for delivering complex change initiatives for private banking and wealth management clients. The role is delivery‑focused with high autonomy, owning workstreams, engaging senior client stakeholders, and contributing to the growth of Synpulse’s UK practice through thought leadership and proposition development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver end‑to‑end workstreams across private banking and wealth management transformation programmes.
  • Work directly with front office, operations, IT and compliance stakeholders to diagnose issues, define requirements and design pragmatic solutions.
  • Design and implement target operating models (TOMs) covering business, operating and functional layers.
  • Analyse and re‑engineer core banking and wealth processes (e.g. onboarding, KYC, client lifecycle management, portfolio management, advisory workflows).
  • Facilitate and lead client workshops, including senior stakeholder sessions, to elicit requirements, align priorities and drive decisions.
  • Apply structured project and change management approaches to manage delivery risk, dependencies and outcomes.
  • Contribute to digital, automation and AI initiatives, including workflow optimisation, straight‑through processing and the adoption of new platforms.
  • Support account development through opportunity identification, proposal input and client relationship building.
  • Actively contribute beyond delivery through thought leadership, new offerings and internal capability building.

Core Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in UK Financial Services, with direct exposure to private banking and/or wealth management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of second‑class honours (or overseas equivalent); advanced degree (MBA, MSc, MA) or professional qualifications are a bonus.
  • Relevant certifications (Agile, Lean Six Sigma, Change Management) are advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven experience delivering practical change initiatives, either within a consulting firm or in an internal transformation / change role within a bank or wealth manager.
  • Hands‑on involvement in business or operating model change, particularly TOM design and implementation.
  • Strong experience in process analysis and redesign, ideally using recognised methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN).
  • Demonstrated experience managing or leading project workstreams, including planning, execution and stakeholder management.

Domain & Technical Understanding

  • Solid understanding of private banking and wealth management value chains, products and client journeys.
  • Exposure to core banking platforms (Avaloq), wealth platforms, CRM, onboarding/KYC systems, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of UK regulatory and compliance considerations affecting private banks and wealth managers.

Ways of Working

  • Able to work independently and proactively, taking ownership of outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence.
  • Comfortable working in complex, ambiguous environments and translating analysis into action.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in growing accounts, developing offerings and shaping the practice.

Location and Working Conditions

This role is based in Central London. The applicant must have the unrestricted right to work in the United Kingdom and be willing to work in person in London on at least a hybrid basis.

Benefits

  • A unique opportunity to shape the UK office through participation in internal initiatives (CSR, DE&I, recruitment, marketing).
  • Two‑week New Employee Training (NET) as part of onboarding.
  • Continual and comprehensive learning and development through our Academy Program.
  • Innovative team bonus scheme following the “One Spirit” approach.
  • Hybrid working environment.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays in England.
  • Pension: 6% employer contribution and 3% employee contribution.
  • Paid time off for volunteering (2 days per year).
  • Private medical insurance with dental care through Vitality.
  • Life insurance.

  • Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 mental‑health support.
  • Interest‑free season ticket loan.
  • Access to the cycle scheme and tech scheme.
