Job Overview
The main objective of the Technical Sales Business Development Manager is to develop and maintain strong working relationships, identify new business opportunities, and oversee the sales process for technical products, services and refurbishments. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, sales acumen and project coordination skills.
This position would suit someone who is personable and driven, seeks an opportunity that goes beyond sales, and desires future leadership and a wider brief. It is a Central Essex office‑based role with weekly site visits in the City of London.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate previous experience in a consultative sales/account management position or have previously grown and managed own business within a construction or related industry sector.
- Exhibit excellent communication, rapport skills, and a can‑do attitude to exceed expectations.
- Show a solution‑oriented, entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to develop further within the career.
- Be a people‑person, comfortable and confident to deliver proposals/presentations face‑to‑face and cold‑call to build and develop new relationships.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets, track sales performance, and deliver regular updates to senior management.
- Nurture an existing client base and pursue new business opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, technical presentations, and quotations tailored to client requirements.
- Conduct regular client meetings and site visits to strengthen relationships and provide technical advice.
- Support the Project Manager, monitor progress and budget of each project, and maintain seamless communication with clients and internal staff.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure solutions are feasible and align with client requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, quality standards and relevant legislation.
- Work closely with senior management to improve and streamline processes impacting sales and the business as a whole.
- Prepare accurate forecast and pipeline reports.

Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm.
Circa £45k + bonuses.
