Purchasing Manager

South West London / Surrey Border

Salary: £50,000- £60,000 (DOE) + benefits

An established UK-based business with an international supply footprint is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to take ownership of purchasing across an assigned portfolio and play a central role in supplier strategy, cost control, and stock optimisation.

Operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, this role offers real scope to influence supply chain decisions, develop global supplier partnerships, and support ongoing product innovation.

The Role

Reporting into senior operations leadership, you’ll oversee end-to-end purchasing activity across a diverse international supplier base. Responsibilities include:

  • Full ownership of purchasing operations, from supplier selection through to ordering and stock control
  • Managing and developing supplier relationships across the UK, Europe, and overseas markets
  • Contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and issue resolution
  • Inventory planning, stock optimisation, and minimising obsolescence
  • Coordinating with planning, operations, and finance teams to support commercial objectives
  • Sourcing new products and suppliers to support innovation and future growth
  • Producing regular reports on spend, performance, and risk
  • Occasional travel to suppliers and third-party partners

About You

You’ll be a commercially minded purchasing or procurement professional with experience operating within international supply chains.

Key experience and attributes:

  • Proven purchasing management experience
  • Strong knowledge of global sourcing, logistics, and supplier negotiation
  • Experience managing inventory, forecasting, and budgets
  • Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised, analytical, and detail-focused
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a growing, evolving environment
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers and third-party production partners preferred
