Senior UX Designer – Banking & Finance
We are seeking a Senior UX Designer with deep expertise in user research and banking & financial services to design intuitive, compliant, and customer‑centric digital experiences. You will lead research-driven design initiatives across complex financial products, working closely with product managers, engineers, business stakeholders, and compliance teams.
This role requires someone who can translate complex financial concepts into simple, usable, and accessible experiences, grounded in strong research insights and validated through data.
Key Responsibilities
UX Research & Strategy
- Lead end-to-end UX research activities including:
- User interviews, contextual inquiries, diary studies
- Usability testing (moderated & unmoderated)
- Surveys, heuristic evaluations, and accessibility audits
- Define and execute research strategies aligned with business and regulatory needs
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights
- Create personas, journey maps, service blueprints, and research reports
UX Design & Delivery
- Design intuitive and scalable user experiences for:
- Retail banking, digital payments, lending, wealth management, or corporate banking platforms
- Produce high‑quality UX artifacts:
- User flows, wireframes, prototypes, and annotated designs
- Ensure designs meet accessibility (WCAG) and security/compliance requirements
- Collaborate with UI designers to ensure visual consistency and usability
Banking & Domain Expertise
- Apply strong domain knowledge of:
- Banking products, financial workflows, risk & compliance considerations
- Regulatory constraints (e.g., KYC, AML, data privacy)
- Work effectively with legal, compliance, and risk stakeholders
- Balance user needs with technical, regulatory, and business constraints
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner closely with Product Managers to shape product vision and roadmap
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure feasible and high-quality implementation
- Mentor junior designers and researchers
- Advocate for user‑centered and research‑led design culture across teams
Required Skills & Experience
UX & Research Skills
- 8+ years of professional UX design experience
- Strong command of UX research methods and mixed‑method analysis
- Proven experience leading research in complex, enterprise or regulated environments
- Strong storytelling and insight communication skills
Banking & Financial Services Experience
- Hands‑on experience designing for:
- Digital banking platforms, FinTech applications, or financial data-heavy systems
- Understanding of financial user journeys, security patterns, and compliance needs
Tools & Methods
- Proficient in:
- Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD (or equivalent)
- Prototyping tools (Figma, Axure, Framer, etc.)
- Research and testing tools (UserTesting, Maze, Optimal Workshop, etc.)
- Familiarity with design systems and component libraries
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills
- Ability to influence decisions using research evidence
- Clear communicator, confident presenter, and collaborative team player
