We are recruiting for a qualified Solicitor with significant knowledge of Childcare Legal practice both in terms of Public and Private work. To advise on a wide variety of legal issues involving safeguarding and welfare of children within the North East Lincolnshire area. Depending on experience, you may attend a range of client service meetings to provide legal advice and to appear within the Family Court at various tiers from Magistrates to that of the High Court and National DOLS Court. Regardless of your level of experience, this will include the opportunity to collaborate with senior staff and other in-house and external experts. To provide accurate and detailed legal advice whilst providing a flexible and nuanced approach, to afford and enable the safeguarding and welfare of children within North East Lincolnshire.
We are a busy, friendly, vibrant and welcoming team that deal with a wide range of children’s legal practice issues concerning the Children Act, Adoption and Children Act Education Act and issues concerning mental health that may impact on children. We work collaboratively to ensure all members of the team are supported in their mission to provide high quality advice to safeguard children and offer excellent client care and to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children is at the heart of our work.
You should be a qualified solicitor, complying with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority for England and Wales, or a Barrister complying with the requirements of Bar Council of England and Wales or shortly to be about to meet such requirements. You should have experience in providing clear and concise legal advice concerning safeguarding and welfare of children. If your experience is not in safeguarding and welfare of children, you may have transferable skills that with support and training enable you to undertake such work. The successful candidate should have a high level of communication skills, be an adaptable and driven individual and be able to manage a fast paced and ever-changing legal landscape. While knowledge of Children Act, Adoption and Children Act Education Act and issues concerning mental health that may impact on children is ideal, it is not essential, as training will be provided. We are seeking a friendly, dynamic, helpful and client service focused candidate with childcare experience who can apply their knowledge and skills and is open to a new challenge.
The team is a mix of experienced solicitors, trainee solicitors and legal officers, covering a broad range of areas and combining their different expertise and experience to work together. We work in a supportive environment and ensure all members of the team are supported on their matters with assistance and guidance provided when required.
The team is busy, friendly and welcoming and is happy to assist and provide advice to achieve the best value and outcome for the client department to safeguard the Children of North East Lincolnshire.
