Description
Director of Engineering:
- Sets and owns the engineering strategy aligned to business and programme goals
- Leads large, multi‑disciplinary engineering teams across complex programmes
- Provides governance for engineering quality, safety and technical assurance
- Oversees design, development and lifecycle support of mission‑critical systems
- Works closely with executive stakeholders, customers and regulators
- Drives innovation, continuous improvement and engineering best practice
- Manages engineering risk, capability planning and succession development
- Ensures compliance with regulatory, contractual and internal standards
Profile
Director of Engineering:
- Senior engineering leader with experience in regulated, safety‑critical sectors
- Strong background in systems, hardware or complex product engineering
- Proven track record of leading large engineering organisations
- Commercially aware with experience supporting major programmes
- Credible at executive level with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrates strong governance, assurance and risk management capability
- Experience operating in matrix environments
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline
Job Offer
Salary of circa £100,000 to £115,000 plus excellent package.
