Maternity Lead for Governance and Compliance

We are looking for an experienced midwife to lead our Governance and compliance team.

The post-holder is a key member of the Maternity Team and integral to governance, risk and compliance. The post holder will support the Divisional General Manager, Director of Midwifery and Clinical Lead, to effectively deliver and provide evidence‑based assurance that all requirements of risk management and regulatory compliance are being implemented effectively and sustainably.

The role involves undertaking SI and moderate harm investigations, and monitoring of the action plans arising from them. You will be confident at presenting these reports, and others, at a variety of senior committees, including PMRT, HSIB, LMNS, and, on occasion, the Trust Board.

You will effectively manage the risk register, undertaking risk assessments and gap analyses as needed.

You will be an active participant in the maternity training group, ensuring all learning is fit for purpose, adapted to respond to service needs and/or national reporting requirements.

Main duties of the job

Our service needs a motivated and inspirational individual to join the Governance Team as a Band 8B to help lead the service forward. The expectation is that you will already be working at an advanced level, with a wide range of clinical skills and can support junior staff whilst ensuring quality care provision to women. You will be able to communicate with all staff groups, have a strong ethos around delivering high standards of care and be willing to take part in the managerial and leadership activities at a Band 8B level.
