Job Description

Senior Manager – Forensic Accounting & Royalties – responsible for the commercial and operational performance of the team, working primarily with global film & TV producers, intellectual property owners, and multinational pharmaceutical and tech companies. You will provide real‑time added value to clients, drive operational excellence, and support international third‑party contract reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and project manage the operational execution and risk management of third‑party reviews.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients and stakeholders across operations, strategy, finance, and legal functions.
  • Act as a proactive, self‑driven thinker, solving complex technical matters and developing tailored review strategies, including contract risk assessments.
  • Drive operational strategy, embracing technological change to improve service quality and execution effectiveness.
  • Own departmental responsibilities such as commercial performance, risk management, operational efficiency, business development execution, and fostering a culture of continual development.
  • Oversee, motivate, and coach team members, providing feedback and facilitating regular development discussions.
  • Take responsibility for your own personal development and that of the team.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA, or CIPFA).
  • Experience overseeing professional service teams with a track record of managing 3+ direct reports.
  • Project management experience with complex forensic projects, including status reporting to clients and third parties.
  • Demonstrated commercial success in prior roles, including strategy contribution, operational enhancement, and technology adoption.
  • Experience developing work plans and testing approaches for complex challenges, preferably in forensic or contract compliance environments.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness applied to complex contractual terms and associated risks.
  • Risk management responsibility with thorough scrutiny of risk focus and quality standards.
  • Adherence to firm and team risk management policies, advising and training junior staff.
  • Ability to prepare and succinctly present findings to C‑suite stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft packages, particularly Excel.

Preferred Skills

  • 3+ years focused experience in intellectual property and licensing, with detailed knowledge of royalty structures and licensing agreements.
  • 3+ years of forensic experience managing risk with third parties and demonstrating professional scepticism.
  • Experience with advanced data analysis tools (Alteryx, Python, SQL), data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau), and generation of AI within day‑to‑day activities.
  • Direct contribution to engagement economics and commercial discussions, balancing high quality work with commercial excellence.
  • Involvement in business development activities, including proposal production, marketing materials, and client relationship growth.
  • Ambassador of the firm’s services and a strong understanding of its service portfolio.
  • Multilingual fluency enabling operation in a language other than English.
