The Role
We are recruiting a Manager based in Canary Wharf, part of the Tax Governance & Risk Management Team. The role involves expanding our tax governance offering, supporting existing clients, winning new work and developing new client relationships.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships, develop junior staff, provide excellent client service and identify business development opportunities. KPMG values diversity and inclusion, and we welcome bold changes to who we are.
Overview
This exciting role is within our Tax Governance & Risk Management Team in the Canary Wharf office. The Manager will support the team’s rapid growth in tax governance. You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients including UK listed, PE‑backed, multinationals, inbound and family‑owned groups.
Role and Responsibilities
Working as a key team member, responsibilities include:
- Identifying and managing tax risks across the globe.
- Building sustainable tax control frameworks to meet global tax authority requirements.
- Assessing tax risks within tax transformation and technology projects.
- Ensuring compliance with Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offence regulations.
- Preparing HMRC business risk reviews.
- Developing and documenting tax strategy and its publication.
- Meeting global tax transparency and ESG requirements.
- Liaising with HMRC on tax governance matters.
Additional Involvement
- Leveraging tax technology to improve risk management and compliance processes.
- Liaising with specialists in the UK and overseas offices for project input.
- Coaching and developing junior team members.
- Managing aspects of the team’s operations and performance, including resourcing.
What You Need
- Experience delivering tax governance projects.
- Qualified ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent, with tax governance, corporate tax and accounting knowledge.
- Ability to develop, coach and lead staff, and manage stakeholders.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, confidence to lead workshops and training.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice.
- Pro‑active in identifying and progressing business opportunities for both KPMG and client.
- Ability to multi‑task, managing a range of projects and relationships.
- High drive, enthusiasm and positive attitude.
- Dedication to continuous technical knowledge development.
- Attention to detail and inquisitive mindset.
