Job Description:

At Southern Housing, we’re looking for a driven Data & Information Architect to help evolve our data and information architecture and support the delivery of our data‑driven transformation. Reporting to the Head of Business Intelligence & Analytics, you’ll play a vital role in reviewing and improving our data flows, shaping our future‑state architecture, and unlocking the value of our data assets.

In this role, you’ll work in close collaboration with our Technology and Transformation teams and represent the Data & BI team across key forums, acting as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders.

The Location

Hybrid 2 days a week at our Farringdon office.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement the organization’s data and information architecture maturity plan, in alignment with the Technology and Transformation Strategy
  • Evolve the as‑is Data flow diagrams to a more comprehensive data & information architecture.
  • Identify and align data types (Master, Transactional, Reference etc), systems/applications, Sub domains
  • Define data standards, naming conventions, and data classification policies to ensure consistent and accurate data management practices.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Quality Engineers and Data Warehouse Engineer to design and optimize database structures, data warehouses, and data lakes for efficient and scalable data storage, computing and retrieval.
  • Coach, develop, line manage Junior data architect.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience with data modelling and data governance (including use of tools)
  • Experience with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP), and relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Clear understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstration of an ability to manage multiple projects (and prioritise them)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, strong communication and an ability to translate business requirements into data solutions
  • An ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams
