Cyber Security Engineer – Zero Trust Programme

A leading financial services company based in Central London is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join its growing security function, supporting the delivery of a strategic Zero Trust programme. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile transformation initiative, helping to modernise security architecture and strengthen enterprise-wide cyber resilience.
The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing and enhancing Zero Trust principles across the organisation, working closely with infrastructure, network, and application teams. You will contribute to the design, deployment, and optimisation of secure access solutions, with a strong focus on Zscaler technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of Zero Trust architecture across the organisation
- Deploy and manage Zscaler solutions, including ZIA and ZPA
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate Zero Trust controls into existing systems and workflows
- Monitor and improve secure access controls, ensuring alignment with security policies and frameworks
- Assist in the identification and remediation of security risks and vulnerabilities
- Contribute to continuous improvement of cyber security posture through innovation and best practice
- Provide technical expertise and support for security incidents and escalations
Key Skills and Experience
- Hands‑on experience with Zero Trust architecture and principles
- Proven experience working with Zscaler technologies, particularly ZIA and ZPA
- Strong understanding of network security, including proxies, VPNs, firewalls, and identity‑based access
- Experience with identity and access management concepts, including SSO and MFA
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non‑technical teams
- Experience within financial services or insurance sectors
- Exposure to Secure Service Edge (SSE) or Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) frameworks
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g. Python, PowerShell)
