We are partnering with a Top 10 UK accountancy practice that is continuing to expand its City-based Audit offering. Known for its collaborative culture and people-focused approach, the firm works with a broad range of clients across a range of sectors, and they are now seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their Professional Services Audit team.
As an Audit Manager, you will take ownership of a varied audit portfolio, with significant exposure to professional services clients, including regulated firms. This is a role best suited for someone confident working directly with clients, managing relationships, and contributing to wider commercial activity. You will also benefit from working closely with specialists across the firm in a supportive environment that prioritises development and progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a varied audit portfolio, ensuring engagements are delivered to a consistently high technical and professional standard
- Build trusted, long‑term relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as a commercially aware adviser
- Oversee audit delivery across multiple concurrent assignments, applying pragmatic judgement to balance risk, quality and efficiency
- Manage the development and performance of a small group of direct reports, supporting progression through regular feedback and mentoring
- Coordinate resources and timelines effectively to meet client expectations while supporting wider operational priorities
- Contribute to the growth of the practice by identifying opportunities within existing clients and supporting proposals and pitch activity
- Participate in wider value‑add work for professional services clients, including benchmarking, performance analysis and ad hoc advisory projects
Requirements
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Currently operating at Audit Manager level within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards
- Proven experience managing multiple audits and competing deadlines
- Background auditing professional services firms; experience with regulated entities is advantageous
- Commercially aware, with an interest in developing client relationships and business opportunities
